Blurb
Weโre young. Privileged. Dirty. And we ruin lives for fun.
She knew being the new girl at Wildwood would never be easy, considering who she is. But nobody warned Tinsley Sullivan we’d be doing everything in our power to make her high school experience one of the most horrible times of her life.
They say my name like I’m their king.
Teachers and students worship the ground I walk on.
They all follow my lead… Except for her.
I didn’t think she’d have it in her to fight back. It’s kind of adorable that she won’t budge, refusing to break for me, to submit to my cruel desires. Except I’ll never stop pushing for more. I’m ready to make her life so miserable, she’ll be begging me to stop hurting her.
There’s just one thing that’s messing it all up.
Tinsley is off-f*cking-limits.
And I need to keep that in mind when I kiss my girlfriend… her best friend.
My Review
Boy’s That Tease by Betti Rosewood the highly anticipated high school bully romance!
Bully romances are really popular right now and I’ve been hooked on them lately so it’s worked out for me that there have been so many AMAZING new YA/NA bully romance releases, including Boys That Tease!
Tinsley Sullivan, a child TV star and America’s sweetheart.
Until she’s not anymore.
After 9 years as the star of the hit TV show, The Life and Times of Devin Mooney, a public scandal hits and Tinsley falls from grace, and it’s a long hard fall.
Especially for something that’s not even her fault…
But Tinsley is trying to move on with her life and now that she’s starting at Wildwood Academy for her senior year of high school, she’s hoping she can blend in until she graduates.
There’s only one problem… her ex-costar and the former love interest of her character Devin is the King of Wildwood High and he wants nothing more than to make Tinsley’s life miserable.
Crispin Dalton, the lacrosse god and golden boy of Wildwood Crispin and Tinsley were as thick as thieves at one point in time. They both had a crush on each other but neither of them acted on it and then when the scandal was revealed… everything changed.
Mistakes were made and lives were ruined.
And now that Tinsley is at Wildwood High Crispin is determined to make her life a living hell. Blaming her for things that she had no control over.
“My pretty, innocent, feisty Tinsley. It was like getting high on the best drug ever, the one that made you feel so fucking guilty after you tried it but even worse when you kept coming back for hit after hit.”
But, as much as Crispin wants to hate Tinsley… he doesn’t. After the scandal, it’s expected from him that he does. So in a last ditch effort to get Tinsley out of his head, he starts dating Estella, Tinsley’s best friend.
But you know what they say about the best-made plans. Crispin’s plan is backfiring. Now he’s still constantly thinking about Tinsley and they are even more forbidden than ever.
“She was a mistake waiting to happen. And fuck. I wanted it to happen.”
Will Crispin ever be able to forgive Tinsley? Can Tinsley FINALLY get over Crispin?
Or will all the secrets come crashing down until the two of them are forced to deal with their ever growing feelings for each other?
You’ll have to check out Boys That Tease to find out.
“Careful, Crispin. Boys that tease always pay for it.”
Tinsley, I wanted to like Tinsley soo bad because she was such a sweetheart but she was just so damn naive, especially when it came to Estella, I spotted what that girl was all about from the very start and I just wanted to shake Tinsley so she’d wake the hell up and see it for herself. But even though I wanted to yell at her more often than not, she eventually stole my heart, the girl is as sweet as sugar and you can’t help but root for her.
“God, why can’t you just leave me alone?” “You know I never could,” he admitted, his Adam’s apple bouncing as he swallowed. “You know you’re like a drug, crybaby. I can’t stop, even if I wanted to.”
Crispin, in the beginning, I wasn’t liking his character AT ALL but just like Tinsley he eventually won me over. Thank God for dual POV, he redeemed himself with me for the most part and I get why he felt like he had to hate her, I’m sure I would have felt the same. But once he finally gets his shit together, he’s actually a sweetheart.
“You’re the only girl in this room I want to keep forever.”
Although I did enjoy Tinsley and Crispin’s story I was conflicted about a rating for this one. I just have a hard time calling it a “bully romance” for starters. Did Crispin bully Tinsley? Yes. Did he do some hateful stuff to her? Absolutely. But as for the “mean level,” this one fell kind of short for me. It just came off as more of maybe middle school bullying rather than high school, a bit more childish then I feel what would be labeled as bullying from high schoolers, I mean he pulled her hair in one scene.ย There were also quite a few scenes that I felt were abruptly ended and weren’t as “fleshed out” as they could have been so it left a lot to be desired. Therefore I couldn’t rate it as high as I would have liked to.
All in all, Boys That Tease was a good start to The Lords Of Wildwood Series and I was left intrigued by the mystery and secrets that have yet to be revealed to be excited for the next one, Boys That Read. BUT from what I hear that’s going to be Estella’s book and I HATE her so I have no idea how Betti plans to redeem her in the reader’s eyes… but I sure do look forward to finding out. Now Andromeda, I REALLY can’t wait for her story!
If you enjoy, young adult romances full of angst and drama then this one is right up your ally. I definitely recommend checking it out.
