Ella Fields is one of my one-click, 🦄 authors! I don’t need the title, I don’t need the blurb, JUST GIVE IT TO ME! Everything she writes, I want to read it! But I must admit… Evil Love wasn’t my favorite. Was it an awful read? Absolutely not. But I did have higher expectations for this one. It started off pretty slow and took me a couple of days to get to thirty percent, which usually doesn’t happen but for some reason, I just wasn’t able to submerge myself into this one like I usually would be and found myself skimming a bit more then I would have liked to.

Although things did pick up at around thirty percent the story didn’t really grab ahold of me until around sixty-ish percent. The “oh my gosh, I can’t put this down” that’s usually there for me… it just wasn’t this time. 😕 The storyline of the Nightengale society was definitely intriguing and I kept wondering what else was going to happen concerning the society… but again, nothing major REALLY happened with them. I think because this was kind of the introductory book to the series, it may be why it was a bit of a slow start? So, I can’t quite give Evil Love five stars, even though I love Ella and all her words so, soo much, but I would give it a 3.8 🤷‍♀️

💙 (ℋ) ℋℯ𝓇ℴ: Jude Delouxe is the popular bad boy that all the girls want… but are bound to be left in a broken heap once he gets his fill of them. Jude is a jerk but he’s the kind of guy you love to hate. He is SO cruel to Fern. Like, Jude takes bullying to a whole new level. But Fern is exactly what Jude never knew he needed. She sees him, the him he is now, not who he used to be, and she still wants him.

❤️ (𝒽) ℋℯ𝓇ℴ𝒾𝓃ℯ: Fern Denane is an unusual girl. She’s been sheltered for the majority of her life from the world as well as the society. I wanted to like Fern… I really did. I like my heroines strong, the ones who stand up for themselves (even in bully romances) and that wasn’t Fern. Jude was cruel to her, Jude had a girlfriend and then an ex-girlfriend that he was trying to reconcile with… the bathroom scene at the party… even though that scene was cruel to the MAX and I LOVED it… but that was when I realized my opinion of Fern wasn’t going to change. I wanted her to do what he told her to, but then slap him across the face, bite him, SOMETHING. I just wanted her to have that MOMENT where enough is enough. Don’t get me wrong she does start being like dismissive of him, but all he has to do is get in her space and she melts like putty in his hands. 😕

🔥🔥🔥🔥 ℛℴ𝓂𝒶𝓃𝒸ℯ & 𝒮𝓉ℯ𝒶𝓂: Now, the steam… I have ZERO complaints! Every steamy encounter between Jude and Fern was FIRE! Jude’s little smirk and dirty talk would make even the dirtiest minded of us blush! Sheesh!

❥𝟚❥ 𝒮ℯ𝒸ℴ𝓃𝒹𝒶𝓇𝓎 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉ℯ𝓇𝓈: I am really looking forward to more from the Nightingale series and all the characters on Peridot Island, especially Cory and Silas! I am soo interested in what’s going on with their story!

🌪🌪 𝒞𝓁𝒾𝒻𝒻𝒽𝒶𝓃ℊℯ𝓇 𝒲𝒶𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃ℊ: Nope, no cliffhanger. Evil Love wraps up with a sweet little epilogue but there is much more to come in the Nightingale series and I feel like there is still a lot of unanswered questions pertaining to the society soo, I’ll give this one, two cliffhanger tornadoes for what’s to come.

📓💜 𝒞ℴ𝓋ℯ𝓇 ℒℴ𝓋ℯ: Sooo, cover love isn’t usually a category that I add in my reviews BUT Evil Love’s cover was like a flashback to the past for me and immediately drew me in so of course, I had to add it to my review! I’m usually not into covers that don’t have cover models, I don’t know why, just a personal preference I guess. But I am loving this one. I love that it looks like a journal. I love that you can just tell this is a new adult/high school romance because it looks like a journal/diary that someone has written love and drew kisses and hearts on… and then all of a sudden taped a big ol’ “EVIL” on it. It reminded me of all those times in middle and high school that I drew hearts around my crushes name or our names together (YOU KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT, WE ALL DID IT!) So yeah, even though it’s not the cover porn that I usually prefer, it’s still cover love!
