Told in dual point of view you don’t want to miss this dark and suspenseful stalker romance filled with unexpected twists. I have NEVER read a stalker romance quite like this one, and I am loving it!! Seriously, one of the best stalker romances I’ve read to date. I couldn’t get enough of Ari and Adeline, and let’s not forget Lincoln too! The Danger You Know is far from your average love story, it’s a unique tale about a stalker and his obsession.

Lily White is a new to me author and I must say, I’m intrigued! I am completely dumbfounded as to how I’ve missed her though! If you follow my reviews you already know that dark reads are my jam, sooo how in the world did I miss this amazing author? I have no idea but now that I’ve found her, I’m binging everything! I’ve read many stalker romances but NOTHING quite like The Danger You Know. White surprised me with this one and that’s no easy feat.

💙 (𝓗) 𝓗𝓮𝓻𝓸: Ari is an assassin/ killer for hire. He’s also a stalker who’s obsession knows no bounds. When Ari first starts stalking Adeline, she’s a wild child. Acting out in her own way after the loss of both of her parents. But her spirit catches his attention and over the years his obsession with her has only grown over the years and although he’s tried to walk away, he can’t.

Ari has stalked Adeline for years from the shadows. He knows everything there is to know about her, down to the minute details. Ari has stopped at nothing to protect her, even going as far as to… Uhm… remove people from her life if he felt they were a threat to her well being. He may be a stalker but he’s devoted to her and you have to admire him for that.

❝𝐻𝑒’𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑤 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑚𝑒.
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑑 𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑠 ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑝𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑢𝑟𝑡 𝑚𝑒.❞

Ari’s the kind of character you aren’t supposed to like but you can’t help but love. I LOVED that there were points in the story where Ari literally told readers F*** YOU if he felt they would judge him for his actions or for Adeline and his relationship. Ari is surely not a hero, and he may not be a good guy… but sometimes… a girl needs a villain in her life.

❤️ (𝓱) 𝓗𝓮𝓻𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓮: Adeline ‘Little Bird’ Kane spiraled out of control at sixteen years old, after the death of her parents. But after years of living life on the edge, she meets a man who offers her stability and the kind of life she thinks she’s supposed to lead. Unfortunately, Adeline loses herself and her spirit in the process.

❝𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑎 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑜 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑤𝑜𝑜𝑝 𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑎𝑣𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑𝑠 𝑎 𝑣𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑠 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑜 𝑠ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓.❞

I wasn’t really sure what to think of Adeline at first… she was a bit of a wildcard but as her character evolved and grew up, I eventually really liked her. The whole sleep disorder that Adeline suffers from was a nice little twist in there and just another way that I think kind of emphasized how “aware” her self conscious really was of her “shadow”. Adeline always felt like there was something just out of her reach but she never could have guessed what she was feeling was real.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 𝟓/𝟓 𝓢𝓽𝓮𝓪𝓶 𝓕𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓸𝓻: Although their connection is a bit messy and to some, hard to understand, Adeline and Ari just fit. I love damaged characters and both Ari and Adeline are damaged but the two of them together bring out the best in one another. Ari was the perfect person to pull her out of the shell that she had fallen under. The steam… SMOKING HOT! Ari is freaking HOT and after that up against the wall scene… I want my very own stalker ya’ll!!

“𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑖𝑚,” ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑦𝑠. “𝑂𝑟 𝐼 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑡ℎ 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢.❞

❥𝟚❥ 𝓢𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼: Lincoln Major. *SIGH* Lincoln is Ari’s right-hand man and the only person he trusts to look after Adeline when he’s not around. I loved his little jokes and wisecracks towards Ari. The camaraderie that he had with not only Ari but Adeline as well was awesome and made him that much more endearing. Lincoln NEEDS his own story and I will NOT be happy until he gets it! (HINT, HINT LILY WHITE!)

🌪 𝓒𝓵𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 𝓦𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰: Nope, no cliffhanger. Although I most definitely would like to have Lincoln’s story, Ari and Adeline’s story wraps up beautifully.

I feel deflated by what he’s telling me, by how close I’d come to being hurt or worse because of the constant partying when I was younger.

Ari’s hand moves so that his palm is warm against my cheek, a gentle touch. “If protecting you was wrong, then it is what it is. You were wild, Adeline-”

“Which is why I needed to grow up!”

He blinks at the interruption. “Which is why you needed to be smarter, but you were young. I saw past that. I watched out for you.”

“You stalked me! How can you not see the problem with all of this? What kind of devil are you that you can think any of this is acceptable?”

Grey eyes glimmering, he brushes a thumb over my bottom lip, his gaze locking to it for a moment before lifting to mine again.

Ari’s voice is a deep vibration over my skin when he answers, “I guess that’s the thing with enticing a devil to love. We’ll go to the depths of Hell for you without any concern for whether it’s right or wrong.”

Another brush of the pad of his thumb over my mouth and I shiver at the feel of it, my anger bleeding out while something else takes over. I’m suddenly hyperaware of the feel of his fingers on my wrists, the masculine scent of him that is a balm to my soul. The weight of him against my body, the heat that rolls over my skin from where he leans over me.

I want to hate him. Fear him. Be angry at him for what he’s done.

Ari has always been a presence I wasn’t aware I knew about. A freaking shadow hovering over me, fighting for me, watching out for all the other dangers staring me in the face.

Tears roll down my cheeks, partly because of the adrenaline still choking me, but also because I shouldn’t feel this way about a man who has done so much wrong.

But I can’t help it. I can’t deny it. Parts of me burn when Ari touches me. The anxiety quiets and it feels right in a way that is so utterly wrong.

He stares at me silently, his gaze tracing the lines of my face.

“Are you done fighting me now?”

“No,” I whisper, both hating and loving how the answer returns the smile to his face.

“Good,” he croons, his voice a seductive purr. “I like it when you fight.”

His mouth brushes mine and I snap my teeth at him. It only makes him smile more.

Fingers locking over my jaw to keep me from doing it again, he bites down on my bottom lip, licks the sting before kissing me so deep that I’m helpless to the slide of his seductive tongue against mine.
