⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝟒/𝟓 𝓞𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓡𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰: Legend by M.R. Leahy is book number seven in the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection! If you haven’t already guessed it, Legend is a dark retelling of Tarzan! But this time around we have Karzan and Janey. M.R. Leahy is a new to me author and since I’ve stopped reading the blurbs until AFTER I’ve read the book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in. Told in multiple POV’s, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Legend.

The humans and beasts have waged war against one another for years, and after the tragic killing of the King of the beasts, King Clayton, the Gods have had enough and curse Isula Sacra and all its inhabitants…

Until a few weeks before her eighteenth birthday when the dream suddenly changes. Janey’s father has always told her legends about a cursed island and after she tells him about her strange new dream… he makes her dreams come true.

Together, can Karzan and Janey lift the curse of Isula Sacra?

❝Wᴇ’ʀᴇ ᴛᴡᴏ ʙᴇɪɴɢs ғʀᴏᴍ ᴅɪғғᴇʀᴇɴᴛ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅs ʙʀᴏᴜɢʜᴛ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏᴅs ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇᴇᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴏɴᴇ. A sᴀᴠɪɴɢ ɢʀᴀᴄᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ. A ᴛʜʀɪᴠɪɴɢ ғᴏʀᴄᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴡɪʟʟ ʙʀɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇᴀᴄᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴀʟʟ ʟᴏɴɢᴇᴅ sᴏ ʟᴏɴɢ ғᴏʀ.❞

Now, although I did really enjoy reading Legend, I must admit that it wasn’t actually a “dark” read. Or not anything I would consider dark anyways. But, I found that I didn’t even care. I was into the story and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. This one was a very quick read but it was a good read with a wonderful, unique, storyline.

If you like fantasy or PNR, I think you would enjoy Legend.

💙 (𝓗) 𝓗𝓮𝓻𝓸: I really liked Karzan. He was strong, devoted to his people, and devoted to his path.

❝Oᴜʀ ᴄᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, ɪᴛ’s ᴜɴᴅᴇɴɪᴀʙʟᴇ. Hᴏᴡ ᴛʜɪs ɪs ᴘᴏssɪʙʟᴇ, I ᴍᴀʏ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ғᴜʟʟʏ ᴜɴᴅᴇʀsᴛᴀɴᴅ, ʙᴜᴛ ᴊᴜsᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴀʟʟ ғᴀɪʀʏᴛᴀʟᴇs, ᴍᴀʏʙᴇ I’ᴍ ɴᴏᴛ sᴜᴘᴘᴏsᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ.❞

❤️ (𝓱) 𝓗𝓮𝓻𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓮: Janey was a great character. She was fearless in the face of adversity and stood by her mate through it all, giving him the extra strength he needed to complete his task.

❝Aʟɪᴠᴇ— I’ᴠᴇ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ғᴇʟᴛ sᴏ ᴀᴡᴀᴋᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʟᴇʀᴛ. Eᴠᴇʀʏ ᴛᴏᴜᴄʜ ᴏғ ʜɪs ʀᴇᴠɪᴠᴇs ᴍʏ sᴇɴsᴇs. Hɪs ᴀᴜʀᴀ ᴅʀɪᴠᴇs ᴍᴇ ᴍᴀᴅ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇʟᴏɴɢ ᴛᴏ ʜɪᴍ— ᴇᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟʟʏ. Dᴇsᴛɪɴʏ ᴅʀᴇᴡ ᴜs ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏᴅs ᴄᴏɴsᴛʀᴜᴇᴅ ᴏᴜʀ ғᴀᴛᴇ, ᴀɴᴅ I—I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ ᴀ ᴛʜɪɴɢ.❞

🔥🔥🔥 𝟑/𝟓 𝓢𝓽𝓮𝓪𝓶 𝓕𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓸𝓻: Karzan is half man… half beast, and he’s waited a longgg time to find his mate. Need I say more?? Although it takes years for the two to actually meet besides in their dreams, once Janey finds her way to The Island of the Accursed it takes no time at all for these fated mates to fall in love. There aren’t many steamy scenes, but the ones we do have are sizzling!

❝Tʜɪs ɪs ᴡʜᴀᴛ I ʜᴀᴠᴇ sᴇᴀʀᴄʜᴇᴅ ᴍʏ ᴡʜᴏʟᴇ ʟɪғᴇ ғᴏʀ. Iᴛ ᴡᴀsɴ’ᴛ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴘʀᴏᴘʜᴇᴄʏ ᴏʀ ᴀ ʜɪᴅᴅᴇɴ sᴘᴇᴄɪᴇs… ɪᴛ ᴡᴀs ʜɪᴍ. Iᴛ ᴡᴀs ʟᴏᴠᴇ. Hᴇ ɪsɴ’ᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴇɢᴇɴᴅ, ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴇɪᴛʜᴇʀ ᴀᴍ I. Nᴏ… ᴡᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴇɢᴇɴᴅ.❞

🌪 𝟏/𝟓 𝓒𝓵𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓻 𝓦𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰: Nope, no cliffhanger. Karzan and Janey have a happily ever after and the sweetest epilogue wraps up their story. Next up in the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection is Mirage by C.M. Radcliff. Radcliff is one of my favorite authors so I am VERY excited to see what she has in store!
