Book Addiction Tag!

The Book Addiction Tag

Book Addiction Tag.png

This is my first time doing one of these but I saw this questionnaire full of fun bookish questions over on Avid Reader Book Blog so I decided to give it a try myself!

I’m not going to tag anyone because I’m not sure who all would be interested. But if you want to try your hand at it, give it a go and make sure you tag me, I’d love to see your answers too!

Here are the questions:

1. What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?

2. How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?

3. Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?

4. How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?

5. How much time per day do you actually spend reading?

6. Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?

7. How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?

8. Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?

9. What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?

10. Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?

11. A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?

12. What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?

13. Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?

14. Describe what books mean to you in five words.

My Answers:

1. What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?

It really all depends on how stressed I am, reading is my escape, but usually on an average a day or so.

2. How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?

On my Kindle?! HAHAHA, there are hundreds if not thousands on there. As far as paperbacks, it all depends on if I’m reading one at the moment or not. But I ALWAYS have my Kindle with me!

3. Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?

Honestly, I’m a total book hog! I never want to get rid of ANY of my book babies! But, recently I’ve started donating some of my older paperbacks that I haven’t read in ages. I can only fit so many on my bookshelf so the ones that are packaged up I’ve slowly but surely been donating.

4. How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?

Hmm… I would say at least an hour. Everyone else is usually ready to go wayyy before me so their hassling finally makes me leave.

5. How much time per day do you actually spend reading?

Oh gosh. I don’t even want to answer this in case my husband catches wind of it! LOL. Hmm… I would say really it all depends on what I’m doing that day but if it’s a Sunday (my day off) then on average 4-5 hours a day… at LEAST. That sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Gahhh.

6. Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?

Depending on how stressed out I am, very, very high! Lol, usually at some point during the day (I have an amazing job as a bridge tender where I have quite a bit of extra time on my hands, especially during the colder months) and ALWAYS first thing when I get into bed. I usually read until I doze off.

7. How many books do you reckon you own in total (including e-books)?

OMGINCLUDING e-books… sheesh this is another question that could get me into trouble you guys!!! Hmm… I would say somewhere in the thousands.

8. Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?

It all depends on who I’m talking to. Wendy from over at Crazysockbookblock is my book best friend (and all-around best friend) so we talk about books OFTEN! Especially if we are reading the same ones, which happens a lot!

9. What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?

I have no idea. No clue at all. But very good question LOL

10. Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?

Hmm… none that I can think of right now. In today’s age with the internet, there isn’t much you can’t find.

11. A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?

I’m not going to name the author… she was a new author so I HATE to talk bad about anyone’s book baby… but In Her Words. I had a really hard time finishing but because it was a new author I wanted to finish it so I could give her my honest assessment of what I thought could have made it better.

12. What are 3 of your main book goals for 2019?

A couple of these are more of “book blogging” goals but anyways…
1.) To read 200 books, and I’m on track with 170 books read as of today!
2.) I would like to be more proactive about posting promo and growing my blog interaction. I really want to connect more with my followers and fellow bloggers!
3.) To attend more book signings! I’m going to my FIRST ever signing in Orlando FL to the Shameless convention, with Wendy in just a couple of weeks!

13. Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?

I have! My aunt was a reader but not a READER if ya know what I mean 😉 I gave her a couple book recommendations and now she reads almost as much as I do!

14. Describe what books mean to you in five words.

Books are my happy place.

That’s all folks, HAPPY READING!

NOMINEES: Again, I’m not going to tag anyone because I have no idea who would be interested in doing things like this (if you are, let me know and I’ll be sure to tag you next time!) But feel free to give it a go, make sure you tag me, I’d love to see your answers too!
