My Review
Cursed Angels by Dani René & Anna Edwards is deliciously dark and I LOVED every minute of it! What an amazing collaboration! Dani René has been a favorite of mine for quite a while, I haven’t been disappointed in a release yet! But Anna Edwards is a new to me author who I’ve only recently found when both of these ladies contributed to a multi-author series! These ladies have outdone themselves with this one! Told in dual POV Cursed Angels was a total page-turner, with just enough suspense that it’ll keep you right on the edge of your seat guessing what’s gonna happen next.
“The Cursed Angels. That’s what she referred to us as. We were angels until we’d had everything stripped from us.”
Samara Eldrige and Archer King first met when they were young teens forced into a life at ‘The Factory’ where they were subjected to awful forms of torture and unspeakable acts. Samara and Archer relied on each other. They were each other’s light in a place filled with nothing but darkness.
Archer was Samara’s everything, she was completely in love with him and they made plans to escape from the cruel unjust world of life at The Factory.
But things didn’t go according to plan and even though Samara escapes, Archer breaks his promise.
Left on her own trying to survive Samara winds up at a Warehouse where she meets the ‘Cursed Angels’. Hunter is one of those Cursed Angels.
Hunter helps Samara pick up the pieces of her broken heart but no matter how much he tries, there’s still a piece missing. The piece that Archer King will always hold.
“Even after the horrors, it’s still him who haunts me. It’s him who visits me in my nightmares to remind me he left me there. The further I push him into my subconscious, the more he torments my mind. Archer will always be there. Taunting me with his promises. His sweet words that meant nothing.”
Eight years later, Samara has picked up a few skills and resources and now, she wants revenge on every single one of the monsters who wronged her all those years ago.
But when Samara comes face to face with the only man who has ever truly held her whole heart, she realizes he’s not the boy that she once knew. Now he’s a brutal man working for the same organization that stole their innocence as well as thousands of others.
The only thing worse… he doesn’t even remember who Samara is.
Can Samara kill the only man she’s ever loved?
Why did Archer abandon Samara all those years ago?
Why doesn’t Archer remember her?
Find out these answers and sooo many more, check out Cursed Angels now!
Sheesh, I have been on a roller coaster with this one you guys! This isn’t a “light” read for sure, there are most definitely some dark undertones and some pretty rough stuff is touched on so those of you who have triggers for abuse of children, be advised.
Samara is my kind of heroine! She’s a TOTAL badass. No matter how much she’s been through, she’s never quit. She just got stronger and wiser and then went after what she wanted.
“I became a warrior. Instead of letting the atrocities I faced break me, I allowed them to make me stronger.”
Archer, he’s a brutal alpha man who’s been used the same way Samara has only in different ways. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Archer King at first but he most definitely won me over.
“Love allows you to trust others. Hate allows you to trust yourself.”
Hunter, I adored Hunter! At first, I was a little worried because I thought Archer and Samara may run into a problem along the way with him but sheesh… what an amazing man. I can NOT wait to hear more about him, I need more of Hunter like ASAP. I liked Archer but Hunter stole the show for me. I am really, REALLY hoping we get his story next, I can’t wait to see him get his happy ending with someone who only has eyes for him.
OK, even though I absolutely LOVED this one… I couldn’t quite give it 5-stars. The scene where Archer shows up to the cabin for the first time… that came out of nowhere and all though I was saying “my oh my” while reading it, it just didn’t seem believable. Not with how EXTREMELY alpha BOTH of these men are so it kind of threw me for a loop and just felt threw in there. But damn it was hot! 🔥
I know some are going to dislike this one because the leading man of the story has sexual intercourse with someone OTHER than the leading female… but once you read the story you’ll understand. It’s not cheating when he literally has NO recollection of who the leading female even is… even minutes after standing in the same room as her. Like I said, I’m sure others will mention this part as a negative in their review (usually I would too) but again, this one I do NOT consider cheating, Archer is clearly taken advantage of.
These ladies have outdone themselves with this one and I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series takes us. Cursed Angels is still a romance but dark and suspenseful enough that you’ll read in one sitting because you just can NOT put it down. FYI, I most definitely wouldn’t hate it if these ladies teamed up again FOR SURE!
“She’s my angel. We were once cursed, but now, we’re free.”

Overall Ratings:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- I really liked this one! I’m really excited to see where this series goes next. There were a couple minor things that I didn’t like but I would most definitely recommend checking it out! Dark romance and suspense lovers would enjoy this one!
🔥🔥🔥🔥- Not a whole lot of steamy scenes in this one, but the scenes that are there are SMOKIN HOT!
🌪🌪 Cliffhanger Warning – Loved the ending! There IS a conclusion, BUT there was a lead-up for the next book in the series!

Anna Edwards
Anna Edwards is a British author from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, she was an accountant and still is on occasion. But most of her life is now spent intermingling between writing and looking after her husband and two children and two cats (probably in the inverse order to the one listed!).
When Anna has spare time she can be found writing poetry, baking cakes (and eating them), or behind a camera snapping like a mad paparazzi.
Anna is an avid reading who turned to writing to combat her depression and anxiety. She likes her heroes hot and hunky with a dirty mouth and her heroines demure but with spunk. Anna has a love for traveling and likes to bring that into her stories to help give them the air of reality.
Anna likes her heroes hot and hunky with a dirty mouth and her heroines demure, but with spunk and books FULL of dramatic suspense.
