Surrounded by violence and hatred, I was born with a target on my back.
The monsters sought after me, slowly tainting my soul.
A person can only withstand so much before they snap.
I’m a grenade and they pulled the pin.
Tick, tock; the clock’s running out.
We all come into this world, sentenced to death.
And when he calls, we have to answer.
As for me, I’ll be making the calls.
I am Death.
This is NOT a ROMANCE.
This is dark, depraved, and is intended for a mature audience 18+.

Review
“I learned quickly to keep everyone at arm’s length, and no one could hurt me.”
Death by C.M Radcliff… honestly, I finished Death a few days ago and I STILL have no idea how to describe this one to you. Let me start off with, this is yet again ANOTHER reminder that this is NOT a romance, it’s raw, it’s real, it’s heartbreaking, and at times it’s absolutely gut-wrenching. There is NO HEA, but the story does end without a cliffhanger. I know that doesn’t make sense but honestly with this one you are better off going in blind.
Death is FAR from an easy read so keep the tissues on standby, you are in for one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.
Throughout Death, we meet a death row inmate. Curtis Matthews. Before his “time” is up Curt is telling his life story and the circumstances that led him to death row.
Curt’s life… my heart broke. Curt has led a life full of nothing but abuse, mistreatment, and outright horrors.
What Curt did was absolutely horrendous… but there is a part of you while reading his story that can’t help but feel for him. The things people, including his own parents the parents that were supposed to love and care for him, the things they did to him and put him through… how could he not have problems? How could he not have felt the way he did? You can’t help but empathize him.
While Curtis IS the villain of this story, he’s also the victim and the survivor.
There are a lot of things that you don’t find out about until the very end so without spoiling anything, it’s hard to explain. Honestly, as I said before, it’s much better off going into this one blind. I hadn’t even read the blurb when I signed up for Death. All I knew was it was going to be emotional and it was by C.M Radcliff and I said SIGN ME UP! Even though I shed more tears then I’m used to while reading, it was so, so worth it!
From the very first page, until the very last page, I was hooked. What a beautiful, tragic story. Highly recommend.
“You look at me and see a monster, but what I am is a Survivor.”
