My Review of Malice

Ok, so since this is a double release/review I’m going to do this one a little differently than I normally do since it’s going to be very, VERY hard to do without spoiling anything! I will warn you now if you have triggers, then this one isn’t for you because there’s not one trigger that I can think of that’s NOT completely smashed through in this book!

So let’s start with Malice, previously titled Mercy by Natalie Bennett. This book is a TOTAL MINDFUCK! Seriously it’s all over the place but in the best way possible. There are so many secrets and twist that is going on behind the scenes that our heroine, Morgana doesn’t even have a clue about but the one person who does is the same person that is running this sideshow of malice, Julian Andreou.

The Chateau Dahlia is a place where all things unholy and unethical happen. And Julian is the master that leads them. The Chateau has been in the Andreou’s family for a long time before Julian even came into the picture and he doesn’t plan on the Dahlia coming to an end any time soon. But Julian has a fixation with Morgana, a fixation with depths that we aren’t even truly aware of.

“My world was her world now, and it could rival the sweetest dream, or become her worst nightmare.”

Julian can sense that there is more to Morgana then what meets the eye, she’s different. Morgana fights her demons but instead of fighting them, Julian wants her to embrace them.

Julian wants her to shed her moral compass of living the way society deems acceptable and embrace the darkness alongside him, standing by his side while he runs, and expands the Chateau.

Morgana is disgusted with the goings on of the Dahlia but there’s also a part of her that is interested… no matter how hard she tries to fight it, Julian takes what he wants without a care in the world, and even though that makes her sick… she can’t deny that there is an attraction and a need for him as well… He’s the sadist that feeds her inner masochist making the demons in her mind stated, even if only for a little while.

“I am what keeps you grounded. You are what keeps me sane. Together, we are perfect for one another.”

There is no character in this one that you really “like” lol, even Morgana does some things that make you look at her in a different light, even though at first glance she seems like she’s the victim, there’s more to the story for sure.

That ending, HOLY SHIT! I can’t even say more than that but check it out, you’ll see and be saying the same damn thing! This is not a flowers and hearts type of romance, it’s dark, depraved and full of malice but if you like the dark, you will love every minute of it.

Anyone who follows me knows the darker the better is right up my ally, and let me tell you this one is the DARKEST! No one does dark better than the Queen of Darkness herself, Natalie Bennett. She has been on my top 3 fave authors list for a long, long time and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

My Review of Obscene

Ok, now for Obscene. Obscene is just as crazy as Malice, and again, if you have triggers trust me this one is going to obliterate every single one of them without hesitation.

Obscene centers around Julian and Morgana’s son, Mason Andreou and his “love interest” Katie Cormick.

Despite Morgana’s best effort, Mason has grown into a replica of his old man. But compared to Daddy Dearest he’s damn near sane, far from a “good” guy but much more on the “sane” scale than his dear old Dad.

Although he participates occasionally in the “red rooms” Mason’s real interest is his artwork. He fancies himself an artist… but the tools he uses and the “models” he uses for inspiration are quite… unique.

Learning from his dad’s mistakes instead of introducing her little by little Mason wants to throw Katie right into the mix of the goings on at The Dahlia leaving her with no other choice but to stay with him. But Katie has been starved for affection for so long that it doesn’t take much persuasion from Mason to have her seeing things his way. Katie has always been… different and unlike Morgana, Katie seems to be a lot more open to the lifestyle that they live at the Dahlia.

“You’re the perfect puppet. No matter how hard I pull on your strings you don’t break.”

Although his obsession and need for control are just as strong as his fathers was for Morgana, if not stronger, Mason seems to actually have a “softer” side when it comes to his Katie-Kat, or as soft as a man like him can be.

“His obsession was my greatest strength, and his only weakness.”

Julian does make an appearance in this one as well Declan, Mason’s cousin who is featured in the next book, Depravity, and THAT is one book you don’t want to miss!

Again, if you have ANY triggers, then this one is probably not for you. But if you crave the darkness then this Saga, along with any of Natalie Bennett’s other releases, are ones you surely do NOT want to miss!
