Welp, she’s gone and done it again. The highly anticipated, second installment to the When Rivals Play Series, The Moth & the Flame is HERE and B.B Reid did NOT disappoint! When I first went into TMATF I had high expectations but still thought NOTHING was going to top Four and Ever… I was wrong! I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and I threw shit all in the name of Wren & Lou. Told in dual POV, it’s a best friends to lovers, slowww burn, YA/NA romance, with a side of gang stuff and a whole LOT of angst!

B.B Reid is a BOMB ASS writer!!! Like seriously you guys, I’m totally obsessed with her. Ever since I read the Broken Love Series, I knew that B.B was an author that I would ALWAYS one-click, and with each new release she hasn’t let me down yet.

Wren is the ULTIMATE BAD BOY BOOK BOYFRIEND! Don’t get me wrong, he’s screwed up a few times, but the way he protects and cares for Lou *sigh* Wren caters to her, it’s no wonder the girl is spoiled rotten lol But seriously, Wren is an amazing guy that was just born into a bad situation and had to learn to adapt.

Lou, I loved her smart ass mouth! Lol, even though at times she was a bit childish and would overreact often, I can also understand her grievances, especially when it came to Wren… He’s her safe haven, her home, and when that’s threatened, she fights back! The emotions she was going through when Wren was continuously pulling away from her, gosh I could feel it in my soul!

“Lou was my Onus. My light. The very last tether to my soul.”

Wren & Lou together are what love stories are made of. They became fast friends and each other’s confidants. Through the years as they matured, so did their feelings until finally… the pot boiled over and they had no other choice but to STOP ignoring what was happening between them. And when they do finally admit things to one another, HOLY SHIT you guys, 🔥🔥🔥 Their story is full of ups and downs and pushing and pulling but one thing is for certain, there’s no way these two could live without one another.

“When it comes to you, Louchana, I can’t be reasoned with. You make me lose control.”

Although The Peer & The Puppet will always hold a special place in my heart, and I was so glad we got to see Four and Ever and all my fave characters from there, I absolutely loved The Moth & The Flame! In TMATF we get to see a much bigger insight into the goings-on of Exiled, and Fox and how everyone plays into the bigger picture.

While some secrets are revealed in The Moth and the Flame there are still so many left to uncover and I for one am waiting on pins and needles for the next installment of When Rivals Play! I highly recommend!

Suspense, lust, danger, secrets, and a love that can last a lifetime. Hearts will be broken and secrets will be revealed.
