My Review-

Umm.. what?! What in the hell did I just read?! When I saw that Isabella Blanco and Dee Garcia were teaming up I knew that this was going to be crazy but…damn ladies!

The Saint Cecilia Slayings Series are all going to be short novelette’s so Tainted was a really quick read, only 12 chapters. I felt like as soon as I was starting to get excited, it was over. Which is the problem with novellas/novelettes. BUT what I did read in those 12 chapters was a pretty damn good intro into this series!

Maverick Quinn, is obsessed over the serial murder case that started his first day on the force, 8 years ago. This case has gotten to him so much in the past that he became an alcoholic and was almost kicked off the force. The worst part is everyone at the station knows exactly what this case does to him.

Maverick has finally gotten a handle on his life and has been working his way back into the good graces of his superiors when BOOM, another killing with the same M.O happens.. except this time there’s one thing that’s different.

The killer left the weapon, and there’s a symbol on it, the same symbol that is on the necklace that Maverick wears every day under his shirt. He’s convinced that the killer is now taunting him.

Maverick is a straight alpha-male, all rough and tough and oh so sexy! But he’s also been raised in the church and is super religious so even though I feel his dark thoughts are a little darker then he’d care to admit, he has a hard time accepting them.

During this recent investigation, evidence leads him and his super clingy female partner Ruby, to the DuBois mansion, where he meets Kiera DuBois.

Kiera is a wealthy socialite who on the outside looks prim and proper but little miss Kiera has a wild side and while at the mansion questioning her father about the victim who had attended a party there the night he was murdered, Maverick gets a little taste of that wildness.

“Is this what you wanted?” I slap her ass, teeth bared around another growl. “Me destroying this pussy?”

Yea uh..huh… 🔥🔥🔥 If you want hot and steamy, this book definitely has it!

The problem is, now instead of the case, Maverick can’t stop obsessing over Kiera.

I can already tell that NOTHING is as it seems with this book and I have a feeling this book is going to drive me crazy until the very last book!

Again, the only negative for me is I just wish it was all one book instead of breaking into 6 novelettes. I think it would make a better impact reading it all at once instead of a month in between books. If you are like me I’ve already read another 30 books by then and some times forget a lot of the smaller details that I would have remembered if I were able to just read all in one sitting.

But if these ladies wanted people foaming at the mouth waiting for more, mission freaking accomplished! The ending is a HUGE cliffhanger and leaves you with more questions in the end then what you started with BUT that’s the point!
