-The Fairlane Series Book One-
By: Harlow Layne
Genre: Hollywood Romance, Contemporary
Blurb:
Sometimes an ordinary life can turn into a fairytale.
Alex was a single mother from a small Midwest town living a normal, boring existence. One night changed the course of her life, but Alexandra must overcome her past demons that caused her to become a shell of the woman she once was if she wants to fight for the promise of the new life she wants.
Luke was a Hollywood actor on the rise, whose work ruled his life until a chance encounter. He’s nothing like the egotistical, selfish Hollywood type. Now Luke must convince the woman who has his heart to give him a shot.
They were from two very different worlds – collided by fate and pushed apart by distance, crazy fans, paparazzi, and exes.

My Review:
Hollywood Redemption is the first book in The Fairlane Series. This book delved into behind the scenes of life and love of Hollywood actors. Harlow did a fantastic job of keeping me intrigued and I was never sure what was going to happen next.
Alex Sloane is a divorced mom with a horrible ex-husband, Decker, who damaged Alex’s self-worth. Unlucky for her, she also has an ex-boyfriend, Matt, who royally screwed her over. In this book we only had a run down of the events that happened when she was with Matt, if I had known about the prequel before I started reading this, I would have read it first. I didn’t feel as if the story was lacking, just would have liked to of seen more depth into what happened with the accident. The only good thing that came from that relationship was that she made some incredible friends who happen to be elite actors of Hollywood.
Luke Sandstrom is a Swedish actor whose career has recently taken off. I absolutely fell for Luke, probably quicker than Alex did! Luke is a total gentleman and he is such a sweetheart the way he always makes sure Alex is comfortable and defends her (**swoon**), the scene with Decker at the luncheon after the funeral…HOT!
These two were drawn together right from the start. Making a relationship work long distance is never easy but having someone that’s in the public eye and doing scenes with other women while you are away from each other for months at a time, I couldn’t imagine. Luke and Alex, even though it wasn’t always easy and there were a few misunderstandings along the way, they made it work. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the sex scenes when they do see each other, my oh my!🔥🔥🔥
I gave Hollywood Redemption 4 stars because there were a couple of things that bothered me. For starters, when Alex and Luke first started seeing each other I feel like Alex brought up Decker entirely too much. For awhile there it seemed like every serious conversation they had somehow or another Decker was brought up. Then that cliffhanger ending, not the cliff hanger itself, I was expecting one but I felt like Alex completely overreacted to Luke’s reaction when the two of them were talking with Colton. I completely understand that Alex’s ex-husband really damaged her self-worth and I feel like she endured some mental abuse from him, but if felt like Luke was constantly having to reassure her about this or that but yet the first time he feels a certain way but immediately realizes he had made a mistake and apologizes, she walks off? I’m hoping Alex redeems herself with me in the next book.
All in all, this was a good first book to a new series. I have high hopes for Hollywood Fairytale and I can’t wait to see what happens next with Alex and Luke, I have a feeling there is a lot more chaos to come. If you enjoy contemporary and/or Hollywood romance, this would be a great one for you to check out!
“But I want to be that man for you. The one who makes you swoon, the one who gives you many first even at the age of thirty, the one who treats you the way you’ve always deserved to be treated. I want to be that man for you. I want to be the redemption for your past.” -Luke
