My Review:
Violet is a naive, lonely girl/woman. She doesn’t have family, any that’s worth a darn anyways, and she craves love. “HIM” A.K.A “Z” is a psycho who has an unhealthy obsession with his garden and his “flowers”. In a completely random twist of fate Z meets Violet. He becomes obsessive over her, stalks her life and finds her in an online chat where he develops a relationship with her until she finally agrees to meet, then he doesn’t show up. When Ally leaves the restaurant she’s taken and locked away by her captor. He doesn’t “abuse” her but he abuses her body in other ways (*uh-hum*) and even though she doesn’t understand why… Ally enjoys it. Everything she thought she knew about herself was changing and she fights with herself on just how easily she accepts her captor.
I love dark & taboo so maybe I enjoyed this one a little more than others but for a debut book, this one was a home run for me. The book is told from dual POV, which is always a big plus for me. As far as being a debut, I really didn’t notice many grammar or typo issues. I did find that Violet was just a little too naive for me, but I’ll definitely be reading more from this author. This book won’t be for everyone, but if you are into the taboo and dark stuff, you’ll want to take a look at this one!
